Sailing Daze sailing charters was begun for the purpose of providing visitors and residents of the Leech Lake area with the means to spend time on the lake on a truly classic sailing vessel. Sailing Daze has been doing just that for a few years now and has been becoming more and more popular each year. With statements like “this has always been a bucket list item of mine” or “so, we are just using the sails now and nothing else is making us go?” These are words that make me feel like I am giving people something that is significant.
The Captain
My name is Bruce Johnson. I've been around boats all my life. Ski boats, canoes, kayaks, multihulls, dinner cruise vessels, sailboats and even a 70ft paddle wheeler. I've sailed boats in the Caribbean, Hawaii, the east coast, the Great Lakes, Canada and yes, Walker Minnesota. I have my 100 ton Coast Guard Master Captains license with a sailing endorsement. I've run many boats, but sailing is my first love. In my Captaining career I have had many people tell me "This has been a bucket list item of mine". It's a lot of fun to watch the enjoyment on people's faces when they are fulfilling such a dream.
Whether you are just riding and enjoying the sights or want to actually help run the boat, you will find sailing to be a unique and very satisfying experience.
Whether it's for a birthday party, an anniversary, a retirement party, a girls or guys time away or because the others went to the casino, choosing to spend time on the water on "Knota Lotta" will be very memorable.
