The Vessel
"Knota Lotta" is her name.
She is a 1984 41ft Irwin Ketch (two masts) designed for long range cruising with over 1000 sq ft of sail. The length overall is 45ft 6in, the length on deck is 41ft 8in and she is 13ft 5in wide. When you consider the conditions this vessel is designed for, it's a real treat to share her with people such as yourselves who are interested in making a sailing memory.
She was formerly commissioned as "Parlay" in Texas and brought to Walker MN in the fall of 2018. Being recommissioned as Knota Lotta, she has begun her new life as a Minnesota boat. While laid up the first winter she was fitted for double stern rail seating, for more relaxing seating for passengers. She also got a new swim platform for dipping your feet in the water to cool off. She had all of the exterior woodwork refinished or replaced to make her shine.
Knota Lotta had every foot of the wiring replaced in 2007. She had all new electronic equipment including radar and chart plotter installed in 2012.
She had a lot of the interior woodwork including the floors replaced. All of this work was performed by the very capable craftsman at the former yacht builders at Valiant Yachts, now Cedar Mills Marina. She also had the propulsion engine updated and replaced and had only 44 hours on it when I purchased the vessel. At 65 horsepower she moves along at a healthy speed. Knota Lotta also has a generator to power the two AC/heat units onboard. She has two separate enclosed bathrooms (heads), as well as complete kitchen (galley)facility. She has a fully enclosing cockpit plus the stern rail seating for passengers to spread out and enjoy the breeze and sun.
She is ready for your inspection and approval.
